From MRG Foundation to
Seeding Justice
My first project at Seeding Justice was to manage the name change from MRG Foundation. Quickly, I expanded the scope and my role to include brand strategy, from visual identity to messaging, organizational voice and a full website overhaul to build a powerful, cohesive brand that resonated with past and present partners and donors.
Alongside the name change and rebrand, I built the communications department from the ground up, developed a strategic narrative communications program and framework that aligned Seeding Justice’s messaging and outreach with its core mission, values and partner goals, and oversaw production of high-impact content, including digital newsletters that grew to nearly 10,000 subscribers and physical collateral like fundraising appeals and annual reports.
As a storyteller and former magazine editor, I see annual reports as an opportunity to not only showcase the work an organization does each year, but a moment to engage and educate readers about who that organization truly is. For Seeding Justice, I treated annual reports like an issue of a magazine rather than a simple recitation of information, combining data-driven insights and information with narrative storytelling and captivating graphics to highlight the impact Seeding Justice made across Oregon every year.
Here are the four issues I visualized, wrote and managed:
